GatherGrounds Resorts has successfully acquired The Oaks Campground, a sprawling 155-acre outdoor retreat situated in the heart of southern Michigan. This new ownership marks an exciting phase for the campground, with a variety of enhancements and upgrades planned to elevate the guest experience.
The Oaks Campground enjoys a prime location adjacent to the Waterloo State Recreation Area, which is the largest state park in Michigan's Lower Peninsula. This proximity offers visitors direct access to vast natural landscapes and a wealth of outdoor recreational opportunities. Moreover, the campground is conveniently located just eight minutes from the public boat launch at Portage Lake, a well-known all-sports lake that is perfect for boating and other water activities.
Next to the campground lies the Haehnle Bird Sanctuary, a haven for numerous bird species that can often be spotted throughout the campground, providing guests with an exceptional and immersive nature experience.
With GatherGrounds Resorts at the helm, several improvement initiatives and expansions are set to take place, including the revitalization of approximately 120 acres of wooded riding and recreation trails. These trails are designed to accommodate mountain biking, golf carts, horseback riding, and hiking, allowing guests various ways to navigate the picturesque terrain of the property.

In addition to the swimming lake, The Oaks Campground boasts a second lake exclusively for fishing, equipped with multiple docks for anglers.
