Only North American school recognized for innovation by T4 Education

JERSEY CITY, N.J., June 30, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Franklin School, a three-year-old Jersey City independent high school, was named a "Top 10 School for Innovation" by T4 Education as part of its "World's Best School Prizes." It was the only North American institution recognized in this category. At Franklin, learning is an immersive and transformational experience where innovation, real-world readiness, and academic excellence converge.

The five World's Best School Prizes in Community Collaboration, Environmental Action, Innovation, Overcoming Adversity, and Supporting Healthy Lives were established by UK-headquartered T4 Education to recognize schools that go above and beyond to nurture the next generation of learners.

"T4's recognition validates the model Franklin has been building and honing since before we even opened our doors," said Franklin School Director of Innovation Jaymes Dec. "Our curriculum is grounded in design, systems, and preparing students for the future. A Franklin education is not just about what our students learn, but how they take that knowledge and make an impact wherever their lives take them."

A day of innovation at Franklin might mean pitching a startup, building assistive tech, and training an AI model. One standout example is Sparkz, the in-house chatbot currently optimized for desktop that delivers Shark Tank-level feedback in real time. It pushes students to think critically, refine ideas, and lead with empathy. Innovation isn't just a class at Franklin, it's a culture.

"It is in schools like Franklin School where we find the innovations and expertise that give us hope for a better future," said T4 Education Founder Vikas Pota. "Leaders and schools around the world have so much to learn from this inspirational Jersey City institution."

The winners of the five World's Best School Prizes will be announced in October. All 50 finalists are eligible for the T4's Community Choice Award, which the public can vote on until July 9.

"We set out to build a school where students develop an insatiable love of learning and our faculty cultivates a culture of curiosity and challenge," said Founding Head of School William Campbell. "This acknowledgement by a global organization reflects the creativity, passion, and groundbreaking work happening across every subject in our school."
