Nashville Chopin is launching its Piano Rainbow Initiative to provide beautiful Yamaha pianos to schools in need.

Nov. 18, 2024 / PRZen / NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Nashville International Chopin Piano Competition and its Music City Chopin organization have announced a new public school piano donation initiative, Piano Rainbow.

Artistic and Administrative Directors Graciella Kowalczyk and Joshua Izzard announced the initiative this morning.

The Piano Rainbow Initiative places pianos in schools and community centers located in under-resourced and underprivileged areas across Nashville. Nashville Chopin provides these wonderful instruments free of charge, as well as mentorship, artistic guidance, and educational materials. This project aims to honor the cultural diversity of Music City while empowering students through music education.

The program will give away 10 beautiful upright pianos to Nashville Metro schools where students will paint and decorate them in celebration of their diverse backgrounds. On December 16 2024, there will be a special concert and speech at Schermerhorn Center's Curb Family Music Education Hall where these unique pianos, soon to be re-imagined into new artwork, will be shown to all the sponsors, local and national media and community leaders. Tickets available on November 18th at www.nashvillechopin.org.

Nashville Chopin believes that we can better the lives of many youths by exposing them to high-level music education and providing access to instrument
